Jamil Ahmad – Personal profile and master videos

Jamil Ahmad, MD, is the only plastic surgeon in Canada to complete his plastic surgery residency training at the world-renowned Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX. In addition, he completed a fellowship in breast reconstruction at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, University of Toronto.

During his time in medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Ahmad received all three awards in anatomy: the Evatt Memorial Medal, the Stoney Memorial Medal, and the Barker Dissection Prize. He has also been awarded the Gaspar Anastasi award from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery for research in facial anatomy and facelift surgery.

Dr. Ahmad is the Director of Research and Education at the Plastic Surgery Clinic. As an active participant in current research and education, Dr. Ahmad has been asked to present at national meetings, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is the Course Director of the University of Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium. In addition, he serves as faculty at the prestigious Dallas Cosmetic Surgery and Rhinoplasty Symposia.

Dr. Ahmad has authored more than 80 articles and chapters in plastic surgery, including articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, and the Canadian Journal of Plastic Surgery. Most recently, he has published significant work on rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, breast reduction, body contouring surgery, patient safety during plastic surgery, and aesthetic surgery education.

Dr. Ahmad is a faculty member of the University of Toronto Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is actively involved in teaching plastic surgery residents and fellows and is the Director of the University of Toronto-Women’s College Hospital Resident Aesthetic Surgery Clinic.
