- Originally presented at the SIR 2015 Annual Scientific Meeting
- Expires Sept. 21, 2018
ITEM DETAILS:
Image-guided biopsies are commonly performed interventional procedures. This activity focuses on some of the current hot topics including the use of new imaging techniques and navigation devices for challenging biopsies, use of biopsy track plug devices during transthoracic biopsies, and changing role of biopsies in the era of personalized cancer medicine.
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of interventional radiologists and other physicians at all levels with special interest in image-guided biopsies.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this enduring activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the role of new imaging techniques and navigation devices for image-guided biopsy
- Describe the use of biopsy track plug devices for reducing the pneumothorax and chest tube rates after transthoracic biopsies
- Assess the changing role of image-guided biopsy procedures in the era of personalized cancer medicine
