The course covers the salient aspects of urinary tract and male genital pathology, with special emphasis on the most recent developments, recent multinational consensus statements endorsed by the leading experts of WHO and ISUP. Special emphasis is given to new classifications, identification of new entities, the use of immunohistochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Specific lectures cover the most important aspects of pathology of the following organs: kidneys, urinary bladder, prostate, penis, testis and paratesticular structures.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the most recent  histopathological classification of renal tumors, with special emphasis on the latest recommendations of the experts of WHO and ISUP. A correlation will be made between the histopathology and the response of these tumors to therapy
• Recognize the subtypes of urinary bladder and penile  carcinomas, and the importance of pathologic diagnosis for the clinical prognosis and therapy of these tumors
• Describe the variant forms of prostatic carcinoma and provide a practical algorithm to diagnosing them. The differential diagnosis of various histologic subtypes of prostatic carcinoma will be illustrated and supplemented with practice tested advices
• Describe the most common forms of testicular cancer and to illustrate the difficulties one might face in correctly diagnosing them. Special emphasis will be on morphological changes seen in treated testicular cancers and their metastases
