Heather Furnas – Personal profile and master videos
Inspired by watching plastic surgeon David Furnas operate in African bush hospitals, Dr. Heather Furnas followed in her father’s footsteps. After training at Stanford and doing a microsurgical fellowship with Dr. Harry Buncke, she joined the staff at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and served on the clinical faculty at Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, she relocated to California and co-founded Plastic Surgery Associates with her husband, Dr. Francisco Canales. She enjoys working with the plastic surgery residents at Stanford, where she is an adjunct assistant professor.

In addition to her practice, Dr. Furnas is co-editor of The Business of Plastic Surgery, and she serves on and chairs committees for several plastic surgery organizations, including ASPS, ASAPS, AAPS, and CSPS. She served as guest editor for the award-winning Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery series entitled Women in Plastic Surgery. She is the Social Media Section Editor of PRS also serves on the editorial board of PRS Global Open.
