Glyn Jones, MD, was born in Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) and graduated from the Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine. After completing an internship, he served a year of national service before going on to complete General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He obtained board certification from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the South African College of Surgeons. He undertook 2 years of fellowships in the United States in Breast Surgery and Microsurgery returning to Cape Town to private practice with a part time university commitment. In 1992 he was recruited to the faculty of the Department of Plastic Surgery at Emory University under the leadership of Dr. John Bostwick where he practiced for 15 years as Assistant and then Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery. In 2007 he left Emory to join two of his former residents in Peoria, Illinois, as Professor of Surgery (Plastic Surgery) where he currently practices. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He has written extensively and has published several key plastic surgical textbooks including Bostwick’s Plastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery, 3e, 2009. A Woman’s Decision with Karen Berger, 2010, and is the author of Reconstructive Surgery with Michael Zenn, 2012. He lectures nationally and internationally on breast surgery, facial surgery and cosmetic surgery. His practice interests include facial esthetic surgery, cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery and facial injectables.
His interests and hobbies include playing the guitar, kite surfing, rowing, painting wild life, model railroads, skiing and writing. He lives with Hilarie, his wife, in Peoria IL and has 3 grown, married children and 8 grandchildren.
