COURSE DESCRIPTION

In his preface to the third edition of Atlas of Head and Neck Pathology (Elsevier, 2016), Dr. Bruce Wenig describes the updated, comprehensive survey of head and neck pathology contained within its pages, and remarks “relative to compiling a book such as this one, the advances in molecular pathology are akin to a moving target with near weekly publications that provide new information and/or information that renders previous knowledge relative to a given disease essentially moot.”

COURSE OBJECTIVES

•  Discuss and show the morphology of the new/updated classification for keratinizing epithelial dysplasias
•  Describe features shared by salivary gland neoplasms and detail the utility of immunohistochemistry
and/or molecular analysis in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis
•  Detail key diagnostic findings across a spectrum of head and neck lesions

The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians can earn a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by participating in the CME activities within the December, 2016 Interactive Microscopy Course.

The USCAP is approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) to offer Self-Assessment credits (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the ABP requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Registrants must take and pass the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit. Physicians can earn a maximum of 12 SAM credit hours.
