Dermatopathology in the Desert: Practical Dermatopathology recalls the historical sessions in dermatopathology given in Palm Springs by Dr. Bernard Ackerman, an annual event that attracted dermatopathologists and dermatologists to his charismatic personality and profound knowledge. Under the direction of Dr. Steven Billings of the Cleveland Clinic, a vibrant, modern and pragmatic version of dermatopathology offers the morphology of soft tissue and melanocytic lesions, adnexal tumors, cutaneous lymphoma and inflammatory skin lesions with molecular correlations. The faculty is pre-eminent and engaging.  The setting is the unique USCAP Interactive Learning Center where intimate mentoring reinforces learning at the microscope. There is ample time to explore Palm Springs from mid-century modern architecture to desert hikes, trendy restaurants, coffee houses and bars.

The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians can earn a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by participating in the CME activities within the May, 2016 Interactive Microscopy Course.

The USCAP is approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) to offer Self-Assessment credits (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the ABP requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Registrants must take and pass the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit.

Physicians can earn a maximum of 16.0 SAM credit hours.
